Great Aussie Adventure - Day 22

I left Exmouth today for a day of driving. Leaving Exmouth, there are so many termite nests. It’s pretty interesting.

But there is not much to see, just a lot of red dirt and hills again. If possible, I think the red was deeper today. Still overcast, but the red seemed redder. There was also a lot of green here and there.

Mt Minnie

I passed a couple of mines and a couple of gas factories. (Some of the miners and factory workers had put their hard hats, sunglasses and gloves on some of the termite nests. It was so funny to see!!) I also drove over so many dried up river, creek and stream beds. I think there was only 1 that actually had water in it and that was right before the town where I’m spending the night - Karratha. However, where all the green was, I’m assuming the streams and creeks were just underground. It was a long drive, but pretty in it’s own way. It’s good to be in a town where I have phone service again!

The high today was 28 degrees (82F)! Not at all bad for winter!

Tomorrow Broome - we’re not famous for brooms!

About Me

My photo
Denver, Colorado, United States
I'm originally from Colorado, but I've been living in Australia for three years. Before that, I lived all over the U.S.: Washington State, Maine, California, Oregon, Nebraska, North Carolina, Arizona, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and more... No, I'm not a military brat or a military wife; I was a traveling nurse for 5 years so I moved to a new city every 3 months. During my travels, I became intrigued with lighthouses and started making plans to photograph as many as I could in whichever state I was living (including the two in Nebraska!) My blog is about my trips to various lighthouses, as well as other interesting trips. I hope you enjoy reading, and leave a comment or two!
